Filling concert halls with exquisite music since 2009, the Montreal Philharmonic Musician's Orchestra is dedicated to helping young and talented musicians develop their mastery of orchestral and solo performance. This ensemble, built from the passion and drive of musical director Philippe Ménard, offers musicians the opportunity to enrich their musical repertoire with classical masterpieces, while not forgoing lesser known but equally magnificent contemporary pieces.

The OPMEM allows aspiring musicians to experience the realities of  professional performance by preparing complete concert programs within tight deadlines, alongside fellow students from a large variety of other institutions. Hosting five annual concerts, the orchestra also offers the opportunity for young soloists to perform on the centre stage of Montreal's classical music scene, helping them to gain rare and valuable experience in solo performance.

This season, the OPMEM will be associated with second maestro Thomas Le Duc-Moreau, who will conduct and work alongside the orchestra during each concert.

The OPMEM became UQAM's Music Department's resident orchestra in September 2012, filling a crucial void for the university's young musicians trying to gain important professional experience. In its essence, the orchestra is a high quality platform that reunites students and professionals from all across the province aiming to join the ranks for Canada's top musical performers. Join us this season to hear some of the best, brightest and most talented young musicians this city has to offer.
